Apple iPhone 7 Plus 32GB
This is an overview of Apple’s 2016 flagship smartphone, the iPhone 7 Plus. It is the bigger of the i7s and definitely has more to offer besides just its size. The iPhone 7 Plus has held up well in the market despite being a 2016 smartphone and it is surprising how great it still is when compared to phones released in 2017. Leaves us wondering what the iPhone 8 will bring on board. But until then, let us that a look at the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. Its specs, features and its strengths (which if you ask me is in every bit of this smartphone). Let us dig in.
Design and build
Apple surely went all out with the design of the iPhone 7 Plus. It is still the same signature look of a typical iPhone except for the little tweaks and additions like the introduction of dual primary camera on the top left corner of the iPhone 7 (rear). Then Apple’s logo still sits on the upper middle back and an iPhone branding at the bottom. It has a glossy full metal body build that gives it this premium beautiful finish and look. The face of the iPhone 7 is a 5.5 inch display panel with a touch pad, pressure sensitive home button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner as well. Bezels are here still but are well hidden with the jet black version of this phone. It measures 158.2 x 77.9 x 7.3 mm and weighs 188 grams. Solid phone, great feel on hand and good looks. This is also the first iPhone ever to have water resistance capability (ip67 certified up to 1 meter and 30 minutes). Good work Apple.
Camera
The camera on the Apple iPhone 7 Plus 128GB is one area Apple does add features. Both software and hardware. We see a dual camera with a horizontal setup on the top left of the iPhone 7 Plus. Courtesy of official website. There is the same 12MP wide-angle camera that’s on iPhone 7 works with a 12MP telephoto camera that can get even closer. That means you can get higher-quality zoom from farther away. Thanks to the dual-camera system and breakthrough ISP technology on the iPhone 7 Plus super sharp close-up photos and videos with optical zoom at 2x is now achievable. And you can get even closer with improved digital zoom that lets you shoot at up to 10x for photos. The selfie camera is a 7MP camera. Now Apple almost never increased the pixels on their cameras, but they did this time with the iPhone 7 Plus. This selfie camera does a decent job. Its pixel count is not only a paper quality upgrade but real time too.
Video recording stands at 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60/120fps, 720p@240fps with simultaneous 4K video and 8MP image recording on deck. I love photography on this phone. Very impressive and has great software improvements.
Display
The display on iPhone smartphones has always been good since time immemorial. Here on the apple 128 iPhone 7 Plus 128gb we get a 5.5 inches LED-backlit IPS LCD, capacitive touchscreen of 1080 x 1920 pixels (~401 ppi pixel density) and 67.7% screen-to-body ratio. It comes with Ion-strengthened glass, oleophobic coating protection, Wide color gamut display, 3D Touch display & home button and supports display zoom. It is one outstanding display I must say. With good color representation and brightness. Viewing angles are as good as you can expect and outdoor visibility has also been made possible here.
Performance and memory
Apple decided to go with their own Apple A10 Fusion chipset on the iPhone 7 Plus this time, a Quad-core 2.34 GHz (2x Hurricane + 2x Zephyr) and PowerVR Series7XT Plus (six-core graphics) for graphics performance. It comes running on iOS 10.0.1 which is upgradable to iOS 10.3.2.
You get to choose from a 32/128/256 GB, GB (all run on 3GB RAM) with regards to internal memory. There however is no support for memory expansion via an SD card. However there is iCloud cloud service so you need not worry about it.
Battery
A user non-removable Li-Ion 2900 mAh battery (11.1 Wh). A very good capacity for a 5.5 inches display that will last you up to a whole day of moderate usage. Apple does OS customization to ensure longer hours on charge with their smartphones and that is the case here too.
This battery has an endurance rating of 75 hours and can reach up to 384 hours of standby time.
Connectivity and network
There is support for Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, hotspot, Bluetooth 4.2, GPs with A-GPS, GLONASS, NFC (Apple Pay only) and comes with a 2.0, reversible connector.

Sound
Apple iPhone 7 Plus 32gb has stereo speakers that give very impressive sound output. For the first time Apple decided to exclude the 3.5mm jack. This is going to take some getting used to for those going to buy this phone. No wonder Apple included a lightning to 3.5 mm headphone jack adapter. Instead, headphones are connected on the usb port.
This is a solid phone, a true flagship and an identity smartphone. Apple has done the greatest it can on a smartphone, yet with the apple iPhone 7 Plus 128gb and it is for this reason I do recommend this phone.

Let us consider for a moment the primary camera setup of Huawei Y8p. In so doing we must first take note that the phone has four cameras. Three on the back and one on the front. The tree camera lenses on the back are what we refer to as the main camera. They are made up of a main 48MP shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a third 2MP depth-sensing lens. Now, these AI triple cameras each perform their functions as their names suggest. But together they assist you in exploring the mysterious nature or recording your daily life through a simple snap. You will be particularly impressed with the high resolution 48 MP main lens which further enhances photos to be sharper and clearer.
There is no much information provided on the official product website on the 16 MP, f/2.0 selfie camera of Huawei Y8p. But this you can count on for sure. 16 MP front-facing cameras on Huawei smartphones rarely (if at all they ever) disappoint. What I mean is there is not an official statement of fast battery charging on this phone like what we see on Huawei nova 7i. It is a powerful 4000 mAh large battery nevertheless.

5.45 inches display
By all means, 5.45 inches on a smartphone display in 2020 is rather small. But we say this carefully considering some high-end smartphones have even smaller displays compared to this. I speak of iPhone SE 2020 which comes with a 4.7-inch panel. Therefore, it must only follow that the display sizes a company includes on a phone are subjective to the target market. Nevertheless, Huawei Y5p proudly offers a 5.45 inches display that supports 16M colors as one would expect. Even the 720 x 1440 pixels resolution of this display we wouldn’t harshly report considering the entry-level of Y5p.
However, Huawei describes this 5.45-inch display as an HD bezel-less FullView Display. Check this link to see. Whereas we fell the description is to some extent, exaggerated, we cannot help but agree it would serve them who buy this phone just right. Keep in mind this panel is a Capacitive touchscreen of 18:9 ratio and ~295 PPI density. It covers an area of about 76.7 cm2. Huawei also describes it as ”Remarkable FullView.”
32GB Large Storage
The internal storage of Huawei Y5p seems to be the best feature of it. This alongside its OS in Android 10 although we see no sight of Google Play Services herein. But the phone does for a fact have EMUI 10.1 skin. And as we should know by now EMUI 10.1 has quite a lot to offer. But back to the main point here. Huawei Y5p has 32 GB of internal storage with a generous 2GB of RAM. A 3-slot design that can accommodate 2 nano-SIM cards and an SD card (up to 512 GB)2 you will also find here. To be honest, for this phone, this is way more than what this phone should offer. 32GB and a dedicated SD card slot up to 512Gb is no small thing at this price point.
Under the hood of Huawei Y5p is a Mediatek MT6762R Helio P22 (12 nm) chipset, an Octa-core (4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. Now when you see a smartphone in 2019 with no fingerprint scanner then you know two things, it truly is an affordable budget smartphone. For it not to have the same, you will be paying way less. Moving on, it has a plastic build Oppo A1K that sees it weigh about 170 grams.
You still get some nice features with the design of this phone; a dew drop notch for example has been punched on the display panel which has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The back panel has the primary camera with LED flash in horizontal orientation. It is on the top right corner. Oppo branding also shine son the back. The curves on all four corners have been repeated in the display.

Display
This sweet phone has a decent display (for its price). I speak of an IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen with 720 x 1560 pixels, 19.5:9 ratio, 282 ppi density, 91.3 cm2 and 80.1% screen-to-body ratio. It is a large 6.1 inches panel. That dew drop display allows for reduced bezels which result to an almost complete display estate. The chin is thicker than the forehead though as it should be. I also mentioned there is Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection- I meant it. Corning Gorilla ensures your display durability and scratch resistance.
Camera
There is an 8MP camera lens on the back of this phone and it is the main shooter. It also shoots videos at 1080p@30fps, unlike the selfie camera’s 720p video quality. Speaking of which, the selfie camera is a 5MP lens. Well, I am glad there is a selfie camera, with this affordability intended smartphones it would have been no surprise missing a selfie camera- lucky.

Eye-catching Display
Whereas 1080p displays are preferred to 720p, the one on this phone is fine. It has a ~270 PPI density, 16M colors, covers 96.6 cm2, and does support 16M colors. We are also looking at a 19:9 ratio panel on the A12. Before I forget to mention it. The display panel of Oppo A12 can brighten up to 450 nits type. brightness. Whilst in that mood, do note that it does have a blue light filter to protect you from the strain.
In one review on this website we did mention that sometimes IPS panels are underrated when compared to AMOLED. Whereas this is true in some sense, we still hold that IPS panels can still do just fine. Oppo A12 comes with a 6.22 inch IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. Now 6.22 inches by nowadays standards is a compact screen. So seeing Oppo have a 720 x 1520 pixels resolution would spark mixed reactions.
Oppo A12 Design
A water-drop Screen, 3D Diamond Blaze Design, and a fingerprint sensor. All these are components of the design and build of Oppo A12. The phone comes in two color options black and blue. It measures 155.9 x 75.5 x 8.3 mm and weighs about 165 grams. The highlight of the design of A12 is 3D Diamond Blaze Design which we very much see on is the back panel.
The black version makes it looks like a gaming phone while the blue version gives it a classy look. Of course being an entry-level smartphone Oppo A12’s build is glass front, plastic back with a plastic frame. It is on the back panel we see the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, Oppo branding, and the dual-camera setup. The power button and volume rocker sit on opposite sides of its frame for a change. The second highlight I would say is that water-drop screen.
Cameras
Oppo A12 comes with three cameras – two on the back and one on the front. Let us quickly talk about that 5 MP front-facing camera. See, 5 MP (see Nokia C1) is not the best camera resolution. Oppo should have done better with it, to be honest. It is no surprise the company does not talk about it much on the product website. What it does talk about however, is the 13MP main lens captures every last detail, bringing you crisp, clear photos. Shout out to the 2MP depth lens which achieves bokeh blurring helping shoot professional-looking portraits. Video recording here is 1080p@30fps and camera features include LED flash, HDR and panorama.
Performance
In a nutshell, Oppo A12’s performance is made up of this. 3GB RAM + 32 GB storage, 4230mAh Battery, ColorOS 6.1 and Dirac Sound. I will not follow this order but let me first mention that this is an Android-powered smartphone running Android 9.0 (see Tecno Phantom 9) with ColorOS 6.1. ColorOS 6 follows the idea of border-less design to bring you the most intelligent system experience. This of course featuring a whole new interface, from the home page to app icons, font sizes to background colors. Oppo A12 is powered by a Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 chipset, Octa-core (4×2.35 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.8 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and PowerVR GE8320 GPU.
Dirac Sound
Dirac automatically switches between smart audio modes to optimize sound quality depending on what you’re doing – playing games, listening to a song, or watching videos. Whatever you hear, it will be a true-to-life, immersive experience. Source website.
