The Y5p comes with a5.45 inches display, Android 10, 32GB + 2GB RAM, and a 3020 mAh battery. It is a budget smartphone or an entry-level smartphone if you wish. Here is our highlight review of it.
5.45 inches display
By all means, 5.45 inches on a smartphone display in 2020 is rather small. But we say this carefully considering some high-end smartphones have even smaller displays compared to this. I speak of iPhone SE 2020 which comes with a 4.7-inch panel. Therefore, it must only follow that the display sizes a company includes on a phone are subjective to the target market. Nevertheless, Huawei Y5p proudly offers a 5.45 inches display that supports 16M colors as one would expect. Even the 720 x 1440 pixels resolution of this display we wouldn’t harshly report considering the entry-level of Y5p.
However, Huawei describes this 5.45-inch display as an HD bezel-less FullView Display. Check this link to see. Whereas we fell the description is to some extent, exaggerated, we cannot help but agree it would serve them who buy this phone just right. Keep in mind this panel is a Capacitive touchscreen of 18:9 ratio and ~295 PPI density. It covers an area of about 76.7 cm2. Huawei also describes it as ”Remarkable FullView.”
32GB Large Storage
The internal storage of Huawei Y5p seems to be the best feature of it. This alongside its OS in Android 10 although we see no sight of Google Play Services herein. But the phone does for a fact have EMUI 10.1 skin. And as we should know by now EMUI 10.1 has quite a lot to offer. But back to the main point here. Huawei Y5p has 32 GB of internal storage with a generous 2GB of RAM. A 3-slot design that can accommodate 2 nano-SIM cards and an SD card (up to 512 GB)2 you will also find here. To be honest, for this phone, this is way more than what this phone should offer. 32GB and a dedicated SD card slot up to 512Gb is no small thing at this price point.
Under the hood of Huawei Y5p is a Mediatek MT6762R Helio P22 (12 nm) chipset, an Octa-core (4×2.0 GHz Cortex-A53 & 4×1.5 GHz Cortex-A53) CPU and a PowerVR GE8320 GPU. And just to touch a little more on the lack of Google Play Services. Huawei Y5p brings on board HUAWEI AppGallery to replace Google Services. HUAWEI AppGallery is Huawei’s official app distribution platform to search, download, manage, and share mobile apps. This phone also comes with intelligent AI facial recognition so you can it with more convenience.

Huawei Y5p is a lightweight smartphone weighing about 144 g and measuring 146.5 x 70.9 x 8.4 mm in dimension. Its SIM options also make up its design. And for it, you get a Dual SIM (Nano-SIM, dual stand-by) smartphone in Y5p.
Camera configuration of Huawei Y5p sees it bring a rear 8 MP (f/2.0 aperture), AF, and a front-facing 5 MP (f/2.2 aperture), FF selfie camera. Huawei would have you believe that the main camera gives excellent image quality. And we might as well affirm this but putting you in the know that the photo pixels may vary depending on the shooting mode. The 5MP selfie adapts to different lights to snap some pretty nice images.
